Dry weather condition cheers tourists in Manali
Manali
Dry weather conditions in Kullu valley has brought cheer to the tourists
as they are able to see Rohtang pass even in the second week of December, which
otherwise used to close for vehicular traffic at this time of season.
Rohtang pass
received heavy snowfall in November this year but the road was thrown open
again soon. Tourists are making beeline to Rohtang pass and hundreds of
tourists are reaching here every day to see the snow. As the cold has decreased
melting speed of snow, Rohtang pass has some snow which is enough to entertain
the tourists for few more days.
Mostly
honeymooners are visiting Manali these days and view from Rohtang, which is
half under snow, is bringing smile on their faces. Tourists are enjoying
skiing, horse riding and other snow related activities here. Couples are capturing
the wonderful moments in their cameras with snow-clad Pir Panjal and CB ranges
in the backdrop.
All the
tourists who visit Manali want to see Rohtang pass, the dream destination of
all visitors. Rohtang is the only snow point of the country where tourists can
find snow for the most of the months of the year.
Most
probably the next spell of snowfall will block road to Rohtang and tourists
will be able to reach here only in next summer season. However, the prolonged
dry weather of the valley has given opportunity to tourists to see snow at
Rohtang pass in this season this year.
Meanwhile, hundreds
of local residents who rent out skis, snow dresses and snow shoes to tourists
are having good time with opening of the Rohtang pass. Hundred of taxi operators
are also happy as they are able to take tourists to Rohtang pass, the major
tourist spot of Manali, for sightseeing.
